About Fine Art Canvas Prints
What materials are used?
Canvas artworks are Giclee Fine Art prints on 410g/m2 Cotton Canvas. Your artwork features a velvety finish on canvas with a deeply textured surface. Our fine art printer utilises a Giclee Print Technique that delivers brilliant images with superior fade resistance for a museum-quality finish.
Is canvas wall art right for me?
One of the great things about canvas is that even when framed, they remain relatively lightweight. This makes the hanging process so much easier and less daunting. You won't need to worry about overly heavy pieces that require special equipment or extra hands.
And speaking of hanging, we make that incredibly convenient for you. All our framed and stretched canvas prints arrive ready to hang. Simply install your hooks, and you can instantly transform your wall and update your home's aesthetic. It's such a simple way to make a big impact!
Finally, the versatility of canvas wall art is truly exceptional. Whether you're looking for a subtle accent piece or a dramatic, 2-meter wide statement artwork, we have sizes to suit all kinds of spaces. From cozy nooks to expansive living areas, our canvas prints adapt beautifully, allowing you to create the perfect atmosphere in any room.
Will canvas wall art fade over time?
No, you can rest assured that your artwork will remain vibrant for a lifetime. We use Giclee quality pigment inks and premium Fine Art Canvas, ensuring fade-resistant, museum-quality results. These archival materials are designed to stand the test of time, so you can enjoy your investment for generations.
What's the difference between unframed, stretched and framed canvas?
Unframed, Rolled Canvas Ships Worldwide
- Your gorgeous artwork will arrive securely and safely packaged, rolled in a tube. Unframed canvases come with an additional 2" white border all around to allow for stretching and framing of your choice. This is the lowest cost option, and you will need to arrange to have your artwork stretched or framed with a local framer after delivery.
Stretched, Ready to Hang Canvas Ships to Australia, USA & Canada only
- Arrives ready to hang on the wall, with wire preinstalled. The canvas 'wraps' around timber stretcher bars 1.5in thick.
- The edges of the artwork wrap around the frame for a clean, modern finish.
- This is a great option if you want your artwork to arrive ready to hang at your door.
- Stretched canvases give the look and feel of a clean, modern finish and gallery feel.
Professionally Framed Canvas Ships to Australia, USA & Canada only
- Chose your desired floating frame, and we'll do the rest.
- Your artwork will arrive at your door professionally framed, and ready to hang on the wall.
- A floating frame (sometimes referred to as a shadow box frame) creates a “floating” effect on the art that's inside. That is, the canvas appears suspended within the frame without touching any of the sides, adding a dimensional effect with visual impact.
- Choose this option if you love the idea of your art being ready to hang on the wall when it arrives, with the added visual impact of the floating frame in your chosen colour/finish.

What's the difference between a framed canvas print and a framed paper print?
That's a great question! Understanding the nuances between our different framing options can really help you choose the perfect presentation for your art. Here's a breakdown of the key differences between a floating frame canvas print and a framed paper print behind Perspex:
Floating Frame Canvas Print:
Artwork: The image is printed directly onto a high-quality canvas material. The canvas is then stretched around a wooden frame (stretcher bars), and this stretched canvas is then placed inside a larger outer frame.
Frame Style: The key feature of a floating frame is that the stretched canvas sits within the outer frame with a small gap all around it. This gap creates a visual separation, making the canvas appear to "float" inside the frame and adding a sense of depth. The edges of the canvas are visible.
Glazing: Canvas prints in floating frames do not have any glazing (like glass or Perspex) covering the surface of the print. This allows you to fully appreciate the texture of the canvas and avoids any reflections.
Look and Feel: This style offers a contemporary, gallery-like feel. It highlights the texture of the canvas and gives the artwork a dimensional quality.
Protection: The canvas itself is quite durable, and the frame provides structural support. However, the surface of the print is exposed to the air and potential dust.
Weight: Generally lightweight, especially for smaller sizes.
Framed Paper Print Behind Perspex:
Artwork: The image is printed on high-quality paper.
Frame Style: The paper print is placed within a traditional picture frame. The frame directly borders the artwork, with or without a white border.
Glazing: The print is protected by a sheet of Perspex (acrylic). Perspex is a lightweight and shatter-resistant alternative to glass. It offers a clear view of the artwork while providing protection.
Look and Feel: This style can range from classic to modern depending on the frame choice and whether a white border is used. The Perspex provides a smooth, clear surface.
Protection: The Perspex protects the paper print from dust, moisture, and potential damage. It also offers some UV protection, depending on the type of Perspex used.
Weight: Can vary depending on the size of the frame and the thickness of the Perspex, but can sometimes be heavier than a floating frame canvas, especially for larger pieces with thicker frames and Perspex.

What is your painting process?
I am a hybrid digital mixed media artist. A brief summary of my process is below.
All of my paintings start out as digital works - I primarily use Corel Painter and Photoshop with my Wacom drawing tablet and stylus.
When creating orignal mixed media works, I have the fine art giclee print of my digital painting created on canvas, mounted and framed.
I then add collage layers, paint, textures and other media to complete the piece.
Although the base is a digital print, due to the many layers of collage and acrylic paint added each finished piece is 100% unique and one-of-a-kind.
I do not re-print the digital base layers again to create another painting, each digital base layer is only used once.
