In the natural rhythm of life, there are moments that feel like the turning of a page, a shift that signals something new is unfolding.
For years, my mixed media artwork has been a combination of texture and detail. These pieces are instantly recognisable for their luminesence and the addition of hundreds or thousands of brass alcohol ink dots — each one a tiny universe of light and intention, and some artworks are also deeply layered with collage and mulberry paper.
This particular chapter, however, is drawing to a close. I'm starting a significant break from these mixed media works, turning my focus toward prints and other ventures and projects. Moving forward, there will be no new pieces born of that distinctive combination of countless dots and mulberry paper texture.
This transition highlights a beautiful truth about creation itself: it is fluid, constantly seeking new forms and expressions. Just as seasons change, bringing with them new colours and sensations, so too does an artist's path shift and evolve. For me, this isn't about leaving something behind in favour of something "better," but rather about allowing space for new growth, for untrodden paths, and for the blossoming of different creative energies. It speaks to an attunement with my inner self, understanding when to hold on and when to release, when to delve deeply into a known practice and when to stretch toward the unknown.
For those of you who collect my work, this moment holds particular significance. It marks what is, in essence, your last chance to own a piece of my mixed media artwork in its current shape and form.
There are now just two pieces remaining. They stand as the final chapters of this story, embodying the very essence of what has drawn so many to my work.
